Thinking about moving to All-Star Cheerleading from Rec/Novice next season? Here are some tips:

To prepare for the transition from recreational/Novice cheerleading to All-Star cheerleading, it's important to focus on several key areas:

  1. Tumbling skills: All-star cheerleading often involves more advanced tumbling skills, such as back walkovers, back handsprings and tucks. Start taking tumbling classes or working with a private coach to improve your skills in this area. Do it sooner vs. later as acquiring these skills can take months.

  2. Stunting skills: All-star cheerleading also involves more advanced stunting skills, such as extended stunts and basket tosses. PCT offers stunt classes, and special "Stunt With" nights with our World's level teams to get you more experience flying and basing.

  3. Flexibility: Flexibility is crucial for all-star cheerleading, as it allows for more dynamic and impressive stunts and tumbling. Incorporate stretching and flexibility exercises into your training routine.

  4. Dedication and perseverance: The transition from recreational to all-star cheerleading can be challenging, but with dedication and perseverance, you can achieve your goals. Make sure you are willing to put in the time and effort required to improve your skills and reach your full potential.

  5. Joining an All-star team at PCT requires a Team Placement. Good news though....everybody makes a team! Watch for our Team Information Package published in early-to-mid March that will contain all the info you need to make an informed decision.
